The precast concrete walling business has been an exciting journey for me since I started in 2006. I still remember my first installation contract, a 23-meter x 1.83-meter high 2 louvre high precast wall in Peerboom Street, Doornpoort, Montana, Pretoria. It was a small contract, but it was a huge milestone for me, and it gave me the motivation to continue in this industry.
In those early days, I used to mix the concrete on a tarp for the planting of the precast wall. It was hard work, but I enjoyed every bit of it. Phineas, my planter, was a legend in Alfa Concrete Walls. He and his team were exceptional, and they always delivered quality work. After every day’s work, I felt fulfilled knowing that I was on the right path to becoming a Precast Specialist.
As the years passed, my team grew, and we started taking on more significant projects. Today, we have 16 dedicated precast walling and stop nonsense room trucks on the road, and we have a staff complement of 175 people. It has been a long and challenging journey, but I am proud of the work we have done so far.
